I had an amazing Textiles Teacher who encouraged me to go towards Teaching, but from a very young age I wanted to follow in my mothers footsteps.
My Mother was a Teacher ( Teachers College ). My father an engineer ( College ). I was an average Bilingual student growing up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney.
University was not promoted back in the 80's, like it is now, but my parents encouraged it a lot for my brother and I to try harder ,for job security, a great future.
This unit made me think of my aspirations and expectations as a High School student and what would be the expectations and aspirations of the students I teach today.
