    Equity groups

    in Unit 4

    It was of interest tosee how achievement was correlated with socio-demographic background and it was useful to have the six equity groups spelled out. I do wonder though if we should be paying more attention to boys as they are falling behind in achievement at school all over the world.

    The extra news article that broke down the stats on male attendance in higher education was an interesting piece related to your concerns.


    The key quote from this for me was:

    ”But our “missing” male students are Indigenous, from low socioeconomic backgrounds and regional and remote locations - so targeting these groups makes a lot more sense.”
