    Tall Poppies

    in Unit 5

I was really surprised that students generally don't talk to each other about their aspirations. But on reflection I can see that this is my daughter's experience. If you speak out you risk being ridiculed so it is safer to speak in generalisations only. I'm slightly disappointed by this but also relieved. It points to a greater diplomacy and understanding of group mentality than I had assumed, and is to a certain extent protective.

A really interesting read on the data, Sarah. Thank you for sharing!

I was really surprised too but like you said, it is safer to speak in generalisations rather than being ridiculed.
