    Teachers Role

    in Unit 6

Beginning, aspiring and practising teachers should work through these units. It sets out in very clear terms how we can influence our students. The other point that I think needs to be mentioned is that we are not the sole source of knowledge. We need to engage parents, employers, TAFE, universities in the proces. When we start this is open to debate, however, children's experiences stay with them for a long time. It is our responsibility to nurture this exploration into their future opportunities. Sure there are a lot of factors which impact on their ability to achieve but, there a many different ways to succeed. We need to encourage them to take a risk. Schools are surely the safest places to fail as we can support them together with family and friends towards their next risk safely.
