The Gonski 2.0 quote about the lack of school-community engagement to improve student learning. My Story platform is brilliant too. These relate not only for careers / student futures (aspirations) but to learning in different subject, both STEM and HASS / Citizenship Education related.

In Unit 5
I can see by listening to students talk about how others convey stories of post-compulsory education pathways how important thinking critically is to them. That is, putting into perspective positive / deficit stories and having the ability to triangulate the stories they hear.

I am a FiF but am from a high SES background but given family factors had relatively low aspirations or social and cultural capital. These drivers / categories are a guide only, and oversimplify the complex interactions of factors for each individual case.

In Unit 2
In terms of young people committing to a future pathway, is circumscription overvalued and compromise undervalued? Isn't it, or shouldn't it, be more of dynamic process of trial and error?
